Hardox 450
All-round abrasion resistant plate that combines hardness, strength and toughness for maximum payload and longer service life.

Hardox 500
A bendable and weldable abrasion resistant plate which is used in applications that demand higher wear resistance.

Has a hardness of 550 Brinell and toughness equal to HARDOX 500. Designed to increase wear life but not at the expense of crack integrity

Hardox
We are a major UK supplier of Hardox. It is a high-strength, SSAB abrasive plate. MTL is one of the largest suppliers of components manufactured from wear resistant steels. Our skilled work force has many years’ experience of working with this type of material.
Hx is the world’s most widely used wear resistant steel plate and it can be used as an alternative to CCO plate. We supply various wear parts from Hammer Blades and Liner Plates to fully fabricated Tipper Bodies. Its wear plate increases wear life and is typically used in many of our core sectors, including quarrying, construction and recycling. In products such as shredder blades, Hardox is proven to last twice as long as conventional steel, saving time, improving efficiency and fundamentally reducing down-time.
Due to our extensive manufacturing capabilities we can machine up to 700HB, press parts up to 7.2m in length and waterjet cut Hardox to avoid a HAZ (Heat Affected Zone).
The hardness of Hx means that a structure is kept in shape without becoming plastically deformed. Its toughness allows the material to cope with jolts, shocks and bangs without damage, and it is resistant to cracks during manufacturing processes such as pressing.
The high yield strength of the material allows for stronger designs at a lighter weight, whilst still remaining one of the most wear resistant steels.
